8 Days Yunnan Bird Viewing Tour

　Yunnan is regarded as the Kingdom of Fauna and Floral of China. In this tour, you will have chance to see a lot of birds in two nature reserves in northwest highland of Yunnan. In winter time, many birds fly to Lashi Lake near Lijiang and Napa Lake near Zhongdian from north China or even from Russia.

ITINERARY

D1	Arrive in Kunming, meet at airport and transfer to the 4 star New Era Hotel in center of downtown area.

D2	Morning feed the seagulls in Green Lake, then move on to visit the Flower & Bird Market in the old part of Kunming city. Take an afternoon flight from Kunming to Lijiang, meet at Lijiang airport and transfer to the Lashi Lake, check in the 1 star Bird-viewing Hotel by the side of the lake.

D3	Morning viewing birds in Lashi Lake, you have chance to see more than 50 kinds of birds here. Afternoon visit the Lijiang old town which is a world culture heritage. Stay in the 4 star Seng Long Hotel in Lijiang.

D4	Visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, take chair-lift up to the Yak’s Meadow, hike in the mountain for about 2 hours, enjoy the breathtaking view of the main peak(5596 m high), then take chair-lift down and drive back to Lijiang, visit the Huangshan Naxi village and have a Naxi flavor dinner in the Naxi family restaurant. Stay in Seng Long Hotel.

D5	Drive 200 km from Lijiang to Zhongdian, on the way, stop to sightseeing at the famous Tiger-leaping Gorge. Also stop to visit a Tibetan village. Upon arriving in Zhongdian, check in the 4 star Zhongdian Sightseeing Hotel.

D6	Viewing birds in Napa Lake nature reserve, including the black-necked cranes. In winter, the lake is in fact a wetland, you can rent horses to ride into the nearly-dried lake to view the countless birds from a close distance. Afternoon, visit the Songzanlin Monastery which was built under the instruction of the 5th Dalai Lama 300 years ago. Stay in Zhongdian Sightseeing Hotel.

D7	Take a morning flight from Zhongdian to Kunming, meet at Kunming airport and transfer to visit the World Horticulture Expo Garden. Stay in the New Era Hotel.

D8	Morning sightseeing at the Dragon Gate up the Western Hills, from there, you can enjoy a bird’s-eye-view of Kunming and the big Dianchi Lake. After lunch, transfer to airport for your depature.
